Rio Grande Restoration will offer a River Advocate Training Program beginning in Autumn, 2001.  The six-week program will prepare individuals to be effective advocates for the river, with a focus on the Middle Rio Grande Valley.


Included in the training will be:


          l         Basin-wide perspective and historical overview

          l         A slide-show tour of the Rio Grande

          l         Briefing on major Rio Grande issues

          l         Who's who of federal, state, and local water

                  managers & stakeholders

          l         Current Initiatives

          l         The Future:  Vision and Action
